Be My Guest

by Betty Stoddard Muncie

How many people do you know that have a beautiful tiger in their living room? Well I do! Along with this beautiful Valentine gift from son Dick came a gorgeous new book by Tiger Woods titled “How I Play Golf.” I’m sure you’ve figured out the sentiment behind this gift; I watch every tournament Tiger plays if I can find it on the tube.

I played golf a bit in college, and I was good friends with Patty Berg and followed her in Minneapolis for many golf tournaments. You really should play golf to realize its ups and downs. It surely is the prettiest sport on TV.

It's hard not to mention the politics that have invaded our living room lately. I can't but admire how good Hillary looks day after day, and night after night. I'm not in her corner, but I have to admit she does look good.

How do you feel about phone surveys?

A Tiger to watch Tiger WoodsI get about one or two a week, and most times I say “No thank you.” I understand it's a good way to know how things are going, and I don't mind the call but I really don't feel qualified most of the time to give a good answer. I'm not sure why I feel that way as I do try to keep up on the news. Deal Heller has a good idea to reach the people by survey, and I hope it's helping him.

Puzzles are good for all ages. You are not too old to have one going in your living room. They are not expensive, and you'll find your drop by company will have a go at it too.

Just a word about the magazine world. I thought I'd try Vogue for a while, and months later I'm still sorry I did. I'm too realistic to go for those fashion ads, and the publication itself is way too big. I feel sorry for my mail girl who had to deliver it.
